Who Has the Ball?

The easiest way to understand how work moves through RQ is to think about a basketball.

One task. One ball.

A task may involve several people or Departments, but at any moment one person should own the next action. That person has the ball.

Currently With

RQ shows the person who has the ball as Currently With. That tells everyone who is expected to take the next step.

Handing Off the Ball

When your part is finished and someone else needs to act, hand the task off to them. The task keeps its instructions, comments, history, and everyone who is involved — only the person holding the ball changes.

The Simple Version

Why It Matters

RQ is designed so a task does not get lost between people. Everyone can see where the work stands, while Currently With makes it clear who owns the next step.
